Room with ocean view and balcony was really nice. Reasonable rates and kids eat free.
After reading the reviews of this hotel, especially the bad one, I had to write. My family and I just returned home on 6/19 from spending a week at this hotel. It was the best hotel we have stayed at since starting to visit Daytona Beach 6 years ago! From day one, the help was very friendly. We had slow elevators one day but the rest of the time they were fine. Yes, we did encounter some sand in the pool but it's on the beach and you're going to get sand in the pool no matter what! The cafe/bar area was really nice. It was great for those hot afternoons when you needed an ice cold drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. They also served meals there. The room was larger than we expected. We had 2 queen beds, microfridge, microwave and a large closet. We were on the 6th floor and had a terrific view of the ocean. Overall, it was the best hotel we have stayed at in Daytona and we will definitely go back. Our entire family recommends this hotel!
Loved the holiday Inn!!!
My family and I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn in Daytona! The place was wonderful...Rooms were clean, hotel staff was great, the food was great, (and the kids ate free!!) Drinks were a bit high priced, but we just bought our own and kept them in our room...no biggie! Great veiw from the 6th floor...pool was clean... ocean was beautiful!! If we come back we will be staying here again!! Thanks Holiday Inn!!
Best Daytona has to offer
The best Daytona has to offer for families. Don't
try and save 30 bucks a night by going somewhere else cheaper to dave a few bucks. Especially if
you have kids. Great atmosphere. Everyone from the bartenders, the maids, the maintenence guys
and front desk were great. Breakfast buffet was $7
if you are hungry. They have a great bar for the adults outside. We went for 4 days on Memorial weekend and it was hopin with a DJ under the Gazeboo with a pool waitress to take your drink orders. That just may be a weekend thing but it was great. Rooms were avg. size but very clean.
Not too far from the pier (about a mile) but far enough away from the rift raft. When you see some other places on the strip , this place stands out. Try and get a room on the 4th , 5th, or 6th floor if you want a panoramic view of the beach.
This place is only 3 yrs. old and is not falling apart like many others. And it is not overbuilt and hard to get around. It is not a Mega hotel but acts like one.
Don't go with those no names..Many are dumps.
Holiday -inn is great for anyone. I walked over to the Ramada two doors down and it was a dump when I got up close... Holiday is modern. Not too many places have a shelter where you can relax and escape the sun without going inside. It is the only place I would recommend and I will go back.
AWSOME!!!! Great Hotel
We checked in the same day as the person below. We got in daytona on the 14th and stayed till the 20th. I set up reservations around the end of march beginning of april. I went the 1-800 number for holiday inn. We had no problems what so ever. We were even told they were sold out due to weddings. I was glad I made the reservations a head of time. There was 4 of us and we were all able to pay each of our half right there. I got the room that I requested, front desk was very helpful, ( we asked the young guy behind the counter what spots were hot for night clubs and what kind of music they had) housekeeping had staring problems when we walked down the hall, but we asked for extra towels and we got what we asked for and then some. We chose this hotel because of the reviews we seen on here. We were going to do other ones until I found this site and everyone hotel we chose had a bad review. We were scared to even stay here but when we got here we said WE would be back. The view was beautiful we had ocean view non smoking. We even slept on the balcony, room was clean and proper bathrooms were clean the smell was your typical hotel room smell. The pool was clean except for the loose sand at the bottom but that is typical for ocean area pools since it seems like when you clean your feet off at the little shower they provide you still get sand on your feet from the area around it. We werent to impressed with the breakfast smelled good but tasted horrible. Elevators yeah they kind of stuck just hit the button a couple times and we were on our way. The safe wasnt working and it was down till monday but we didnt let that damper our fun we just found other places to hide our money. The steps werent to bad the only thing was the ants that hung out at the bottom but we just jumped over them they were of no harm. its a beach your gonna have little bugs. Night clubs are Ok for your hip hop likings, just they charge you for being out of state and locals are free to get in and you have to pay to park In THEIR parking lot. but the drink specials arent to bad. Another person said not to walk at night because of the neighborhood... walk your hearts out just dont walk alone of course.... but we walked at night with no problems or fears just you will get alot of honks and waves....BUT OTHER THEN THAT I WOULD BE BACK TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE- DONT LET ONE PERSONS BAD COMMENTS TURN YOU AWAY...WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS ROOM AND THE HELP WE RECEIVED.
Checked inn checked out
After seeing the reviews on this hotel , I was sold booked and paid for 2 months in advance!!! 4 days before we were to arrive I recieved a phone call saying they basically overbooked and are finally letting me know!!! This is supposed to be my last vacation and I was irritated. I was told to arrive May 10th instead of May 7th . When we arrived a rude desk clerk named Jason checked us in. We were there all but 1 hour. Not what I expected, #1 the safes were not working, when I called some guy shows up at the door with no uniform handing me new room keys. How safe did i feel, after that we decided to go down to the beach, The steps had so much sand on them my 6 year old took a tumble and ripped open both of her knees. We were on our way back to the room to bandage her up when we were stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes. At that point we told the front desk they replied " oh sometimes the buttons get stuck" bs because we tried everything to get out. even the help button but no one replied!!!! That when i demanded my money back and left!!! This hotel should not even have the holiday inn name!!!
We stayed here for spring break and the place was awesome. We moved from another hotel in the town because it was horrible, and the Holiday Inn was heaven. The entire staff was so wonderful and very friendly and helpful. They also weren't very strict about too much as long as no trouble was being caused. I highly reccommend anyone to stay there, and we actually plan on going back in a couple days!
I Didnt want to leave
I stayed there less than a week ago and there help is so nice! one of the girls said she was new there but from a hotel near where I live, I would drive that far just to see her again! everyone there was so nice.
We have stayed here 2 times within the past 3 months and both times it was wonderful. Great fun during the day with music and food at the pool and at night it is very quiet. This should be number one on the your list of hotels to stay at.
Loved the Holiday Inn and Suites
I stayed here May 10-17, 2003. The rooms are nice and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable. This hotel was a good choice for the price. The general manager was the absolutely nicest person. I had a terrible flight into Daytona, and had 1 problem after another. Nothing was going right for me, until I checked into this hotel. The manager, Vance, did everything possible to make my stay a pleasant one. I enjoyed myself so much that I wasn't ready to go home. The beach was very clean and nice. The pool was extremely clean and nice. The only complaint that I have is that the restaurant's hours weren't very good. It seemed like whenever I was ready to eat, it was always closed, however the bar was nice, and the drinks were very good. Whenever I visit Daytona, this property is definitely my choice!

... like a city. The sky is literally packed with stars of varying intensities and colors. Orion, The Hunter lays on his side, dominating and protecting the sky. Below him the cloud base glows orange gold as a waning crescent moon rises through the clouds, reclined back in a lazy manner, the cheese won't fall out tonight! The final act is the reflection of the moon upon the sea tying all of the elements together.

With some sadness, that our trip is ending, and with some excitement, about getting home, we started the last leg of our trip. The drive today east on I-10 and then south on I-95 was ...
At 9:15 last evening, when the wheels of the MD-80 touched down on the runway at the Daytona Beach airport, our 80-day odyssey came to a screeching halt. We'd been awake since 5:00 AM, Paris time, to take a private shuttle to the Charles DeGaulle-Roissy airport for our return flight to Atlanta via Air France.
As most of you are aware, traveling by air has become an ordeal, with crowded airports, the agonizing security screenings, ...
... swimming in the water. I am in the hotel now updating my blog. They claim that Daytona Beach is the most famous in the world. It may be the most famous, but it has nothing on Australias beaches.
It was nice, however the sand was very hard. The water was very warm, probably as warm as an indoor pool.
I'm about to go to bed. Tomorrow we are going for a swim in the beach in the morning, having short look around and then continuing North To Savannah.
With a brief trip to the Astonaught Hall of Fame at Titusville, FL (Stories and images can be seen in the Cocoa Beach Blog); we were in the car on our way back home to Fleming Island with a slight detour off the i95 highway towards to coast at Daytona Beach so that Mum and Rod could get a glimpse of the NASCAR raceway here.
With images of Days of Thunder in their heads, we drove into the car park of the ...
