Scary - we thought he might be drunk or something, so called the police in case he did decide to get back in the road and cause an accident. Traffic was backed up further in our journey due to a truck that had caught fire. I found a picture of it in the news. We arrived at Daytona and can only describe it ...

So far our weather has been wonderful, with just a few scattered rain showers here and there. We ended our day in northern Florida and will hit the Carolina's tomorrow. It appears the rain is now over, so we'll see how the roads and parks faired tomorrow. T rip Totals National Parks: 13 Miles Driven: 6200 States Entered: ...

Today the car didn't leave the hotel parking lot! We found a nice hotel - The Southernmost Hotel - located at the end of Duvall and South Street. We decided to walk the 1.8 miles through town to get to the marina where the Yankee Freedom was waiting to take us the 70 miles to the most isolated National Park - Fort Jefferson within the Dry Tortugas NP. The boat ride was a little rough, but the $1 Dramamine they sold before the rise made it almost pleasant. ...

It is actually and long and somewhat slow drive to the Southern most point in the continental US. We arrive in time to see the sun set and then find a hotel. The weather is still not what we like and we're missing the Mexican sun so
decided to head to Florida for a few weeks. Planned to leave early
morning (not sure why we plan a departure time - we wake up when we wake
up, we do what we do, we leave when we're ready to leave....we're
retired!) Today we were ready at 10:30 am pulling the trailer and
saying goodbye to the little mounds of ...
