During the past two weeks, I have had numerous retirement gatherings. I received many plaques, gifts, and well wishes. Today at 10:30am, I officially left Turf Care and retired. I dressed up for the occasion by wearing my Hawaiian shirt. Sheila suggested I wear shorts and flip flops, but that was pushing the envelope. We then crossed Graylyn Trail and went through the power line clearing to another old ...

... area near Beddingfield Creek where a large number of ferns were growing in the floodplain of the creek. The Demonstration Trail makes a double loop and at the far end, we got on the Watershed Extension Loop that runs along the northern perimeter of the forest. There was some nice fall color along this area as we hiked along creeks and through powerline clearings. Much of the best fall color to be seen was along these clearings ...

... individual goals/themes to solidify our collective sense of achievement. Therefore, in each state, Devika has decided that she needs to go on a ride (or roller coaster); April must touch the water; Chaaya must visit a museum; Shirish must get an adrenaline rush; and Neela must eat the local food. Accordingly, the 'pickup ride' and 'pickup surf' pictures below attest to a couple of these goals. Onward and ...
