Next day we toured the Deere Wiman mansion built by the son of the famous John Deere in 1893.( mom ....it reminded be of a smaller version of Downton Abbey with its servants quarters and bell system) It overlooked the original factory on the river and is stunning.....but in great need of restorations.

When we arrived, there was a marching band practicing in a parking lot we all had to drive through. The director simply had the band march out of the way of oncoming trucks and motorhomes as we pulled up. The kids kept playing and we kept driving. It felt very surreal.
