Having failed to get to El Malpais I knew I needed to see something other than the inside of my hotel room so I made for the Petroglyph national monument. This was my first national monument of the trip to go with my 7 national parks and my 4 state parks – not that I am counting.

So, I'm off on my Paris/Italy adventure. My brother and sister-in-law had their flights postponed by the airline for 24 hrs......so I'll spend tomorrow on my own in Paris. I've scheduled a photography "class" for the afternoon so I'll get that out of the way before my family arrives on Saturday.
I awoke this morning at 5am with the intention of making it to the airport by 5:30 for a 6:30 ...

Well, I didn't waste much time. There were some lemons to squeeze! I made up with Tami, the test results were negative by Monday, I recovered and spent a ton of time, while waiting on the car, to practice piano, guitar, and paint. We even took a drive through the mountains and had dinner in Santa Fe. By Tuesday night my car was ready and I spent one last evening hanging and ...
... or the fact that my baby was not running. It was the saddest thing to see her on the back of a tow truck. It was also sad to know that she's not going to be running anytime soon.
While it has been a bit traumatic, it's all part of the adventure and we hit the road tomorrow headed to Oklahoma City, OK.

The radio telescopes themselves are each VERY LARGE, the dishes are 25m in diameter. And the array is also VERY LARGE, there are 27 of them in total and when we were there they were spaced out several miles apart across the wide flat plateau between some mountains. They are using the array to take pictures of various parts of our galaxy and those ...

... costs $20. The biggest thing I need to prepare is my brain. I'm going to be away from work for a whole month, in a place that is sunny and warm as Albuquerque is getting progressively darker and colder. Often I think I'm ready to switch my brain into vacation mode, but if I did that I would be completely useless at work. I think that the reality of the trip is going to hit all at once, in the airport, or maybe halfway ...
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States jaybrotzBy the time I got through half of the bowl of chile (New Mexican spelling) my body was craving some fresh veggies. Perusal of the menu showed that the only thing of a vegetable nature were the red or green chiles or if one wishes, the Christmas (red/green combo). First stop was the Indian Pueblo Cultural Centre to get cultured about all the ...
