Phew... Going through US Customs was a bit trying... No searching but a lot of questions meant - I supposed - to catch us with something bad... Who knows. We did not loose any meal. We're in the middle of a fairground, with a weak WiFi but OK. The only analog TV channels are from Detroit but the Detroit area offers 22 digital channels, many

Longer day than expected but we grinded the flying condo to a halt. No problem other than a sticking lock on the propane door.

... each other by the end of the first week or better yet by the time we pull out of our driveway Sunday morning.

... the conservative nature of Grosse Ile for the aloof culture integral in Spain. But, it all built up for the ultimate escape, España. Boarding the plane with the my new closest friends (coincidentally the only English-speaking friends I would encounter) and putting thousands of miles behind us was one of the most liberating experiences I can recall.  

Sorry to dwell on the negative attitudes about my summer.  To compensate, I am including some finer pictures of my home town.  Enjoy. 

... a summer place - although named Gun Lake before HIS time) - jam packed mostly RVs, mostly multi-generational families - what I imagine old-time camp meetings were like, in terms of festive spirit.  Kids on bikes and skateboards, colored lights hung around, boats at anchor, dogs, large groups sitting around campfires, a few vintage trailers, one with an early 50's "woody" to tow it - and defying our expectations for a noisy evening, at the 10pm quite time ...

Flight arrived in DTW on time. I had lunch and cigarettes at the FOX Sports Bar. Spent the next two hours at the lounge before going to the gate. Unfortunately, our flight was running late. We left 45 minutes behind schedule.

Last week, after our "Mini-Mills Reunion", we had Mom come and stay with us in the motorhome for a few days, and, as usual - she had a ball! We relaxed in the sun, played Bananagrams and Scrabble (which she beat me at, 2 of 3 games!), and just had a generally nice time. One of the evenings she was with us, Jill and Rick came out to have dinner with us, and it was a great night of visiting and ...

... as I will be missing all of you, and want to share about Molly and my adventures. I am cherishing my sleep my bed because I know the flight to China is going to be a difficult one. The flight there is about 14 hours non-stop. I am sure I will be so anxious to get there, it won't bother me. I think that is all for now, and I will write again soon! huí tóu jiàn. (see you later!) ... stops around town and then I went to the Nature Park on Bancroft Road but the mosquitos were really bad so I moved on. I went to Secor Metropark and was able to take a bucket shower at a water pump there. I did this with a plastic gallon milk container that I had cut the top part off of but left the handle.
