Perfect place to stay if you are going on a cruise or boarding a ferry we were up graded to a room with fantactic views of Genoa and the hardbour. The room had every thing you could wish for and the staff were very accomodating and helpful. The best room we have had on this trip so far.

We woke up this morning and were ready to head off to our cruise. Luckily, we decided to go try to get on it early, so we could settle in. Still we didn't leave the hotel until around noon. We had the directions and it looked like a 15 minute walk. It was hard for me to carry my bags, but we eventually got to where we thought we could get on the …

Day 48 - MSC transfer from Venice to Genoa

... transfer point. Our names were not on the list for a transfer to the next ship. Our travel agent had not booked us on the bus. We were very lucky that there were a few spare seats and we got on the bus to Genoa. We were under the impression we had a free transfer between our cruises. We were told we would be charged for the transfer on MSC Splendida. I will add this issue to the list I have for our complaint letter. Once on board the ...

We caught the train to Rapallo about 20 mins from where we are staying. Lee and I had previously stayed here with my brother and his family and enjoyed it very much. You can catch a boat from here to three beautiful spots on the Tigullian Gulf. It was very windy and rough seas at that time so we had not been able to visit San Fruttuoso which is only accessible by boat, the stop after Portofino. It is a "jewel" - ...

... as on MSC children under 17 are free. About 95% of the passengers are from Europe. The food also has a European flavour with Pizza, pasta, cheeses, sundried tomatoes, cold meats etc amongst some of the food available. There is a buffet available for breakfast, lunch and dinner and dining rooms with an al a carte menu. The ship has 2 pools and about 11 bars and lounges. The entertainment was by the pool during the day and every night there was a show in ...

During my three days in Genoa I wandered about the docks and the Old City. The Acquario di Genova is one of the largest in Europe. I enjoyed the dolfins and watching the manatees (similar to dugongs) being hand fed with carrots. I did not go in the Bigo, the elevator which rises 40 metres in height to give panoramic views over the medieval city but I went in the Biosfera (Biosphere), which is ...
