Holiday Inn Garden Court Reims City Centre

... were walking out with carts full of Cases of wine, not to mention all the cheese, fois gras, ham, mushrooms, and other french goodies that were up for grabs. We spent a piddly 5 hours drinking wine, and now have a much better "education" of French wine. But after a couple hours, food was definitely in order. Istead of opting for the 9 euro fois gras sandwich, we got the pate en croute, which we soon found out is not supposed to be eaten ...

Not fine enough to avoid the sleep sac though; score is sleep sac 1, hotel sheets 2, not bad! <br><br>We got settled and showered and found a place for dinner that appeared to be Reims only brewery. I still can&#8217;t wrap my head around how the master builders were able to construct these buildings without TI-89 Titaniums or at least computers! After sketching a few views of this building, it was back on the bus to head to our last destination of the day, the landmark building of&#8230;our hostel.

... night. We stayed the second night at The Grand Hotel Continental. I think the main sitting room was the Grand part. Our room was tiny and for some reason was designed to look like a rustic cabin with wood walls and snowflake motif curtains. Just sort of odd for Reims which is not a winter mountain haven. The atomic air conditioner, though, is probably the reason for the winter theme. It could put ice flakes on the walls if left on for more than 15 ...

... in France, November is not the season for turkeys.  If you would like to get a turkey you have to find a butcher that won't wag their finger at you whilst making a "tut tut" noise and telling you "it is impossible".  Once you find that butcher, he will then give you a number so you can call a farmer two days before you need the turkey so he can kill it.  My friend,  who lives in another city, had the foresight to go through this ...

... et avec le soleil couchant c'est magnifique), et le gars s'est mis en tête de nous faire une petite soirée "à la française" : il a invité quelques amis à boire un verre - nous serons dix en tout, au plus fort de la soirée - et les heures s'écoulent agréablement, bien que nous soyons un peu fatigués Pierre-Luc et moi. ... Richard was due home from work, I suggested a walk to the park and James decided he wanted to take the bike and Emma the scooter. So with two small children, one bike and one scooter we headed for the park 2 minutes walk away. Ten minutes later we arrived at the park. James rode the bike around and Emma liked the idea of the scooter but preferred the freedom and control of her own legs, leaving mum with the scooter. So there it is, just another day but we did it in France.
