... My Darling down a track that even most four wheel drivers would find challenging. Not only once but 4 times including once in the dark. The reward was the beautiful African Ivory Route Camp site at the base of the mountains. Tents set up we made our way back into town for local culture. We were warned that we would become instant celebrities just by being on the big white truck. Sure enough as we slowly made our way through the streets ...

... cleared off to shower and rest - changing into casual gear, I opted to sit in the hotel's old-timey English-themed bar named 'The Phoenix and The Fireman' and play on the WiFi. Shortly after Alfred showed up and we enjoyed a few bottles of some delicious Milk Stout dark ale as we chatted about the trip. A few other blokes came into the bar and we chatted about their experiences with the flood. They had only just made it out of the flood zone in their 4x4 and said that ...

... bus while Norah took her better chances hiking. I would pay more, but perhaps it wasn’t my day today and I didn’t want to see her held back because of me. Our car hadn’t come along and perhaps I should cut our losses and make the best alternative plan. But Norah wouldn’t accept this as a possibility. If she was going, I was going, and she assured me that I just needed to have some patience and certainly our car would come along. Sure enough a while later a ...
