... North into France to Evian. I didn't see anything particularly stunning that makes their water better than anywhere else, but it is a nice town at the foot of the mountains and was worth a visit. Our final day was pretty much a washout, but fortunately our AirBNB guy has a massive TV and so we had a chillout day, catching up on some schooling, playing Monopoly and watching a couple of movies. Next stop, back into France to Champagne. :-)

The rock is just a tiny blip in it’s path, the river keeps flowing, maybe down a different path than originally intended, but is that really so awful? It gets past it and returns to smooth sailing. ... longer, eat more courses, drink more coffee. Bad, bad, bad!! It is not a tourist town, despite having quite a few attractions, but it obviously has a lot of grandparents who care for grandchildren in the school holidays given the number of kids pouring off the trains into the arms of older people! The city was the capital of Savoy from the 13th Century until 1563, when the capital was shifted to Turin (apparently the Dukes were having trouble with the French, and could get help ...

... the Eurostar and through customs and waiting for the train to board. We watched the English countryside fly by on our way to Paris. Hubby said he quite enjoyed the trains today watching the countryside go by in the UK and France.

... roughly 1.5km up in the air. It was freezing up there but the view of the valley below and the snow capped Alpes far away was spectacular. Paragliding should be a team sport because I can only tell you about it but you will only really appreciate it if you get to experience it ...
