We made it! Storms, shoveling, frenzied packing, cancelled flight, booked two flights, dogsitter and more craziness. My suitcase looks like a sturgeon but I got everything into one bag. The plane to Ft Lauderdale was only half full; are you people nuts? Go ...

When we got close to the village, we parked in a major car park at the Visitor's Centre, and walked to Mather Point for good views. The walking path was excellent, with great views, so decided to keep walking west around the rim as far as the McKee Amphitheatre track back to the main ...

... 500 miles round trip in 24 hours?? Obviously we (Kathie, who comes up with all these bright ideas, and Jeff who for some reason goes along with them) weren't thinking. It was insane to make that long trip for just one night but we reminded ourselves that this is our "great adventure" so we kept going. AND we knew we had Don waiting at the other end for us. That was worth the ride! On our way down we started to pass signs ...
