We have enjoyed our stay here and it has been real quiet except for the weekends, when all the locals take advantage of the scenery and weather. It is good to see people out and enjoying nature. We will be moving on tomorrow to Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Va.

We have taken several hikes in the park ...

I’ve only got three, so 29 more to go, but will nab this one while we’re in the neighborhood, so that eventually I can post a legitimate find. ...

... ring neck snake was crossing the path!! Small snakes, but beautiful and hard to find - made my day :). There was a few miles of up hill hiking and then a day camp area, with a pavilion. As I crossed the grass a guy asked me if I wanted a hamburger... of course "yes" was the answer, then he asked if I would like a large bottle of Gatorade....and another "yes" was given, then he asked if I wanted some salad.....again - "yes", he introduced me to his wife, she asked if ...
