... disappointment, failure, success, is all dictacted by what we were expecting, what we wanted to see. If rather, we have no expectations and trust ourselves to this experience, what can ever catch us off guard? Water and electricity, two of my favorite things, follow a very specific system. The path of least resistance. The gentler way. They do not bend, break or build. They flow. They do not fight. If you have seen a stream of water come ...
Fort Worth, Texas, United States zmarv... other than it is flat. However, even this sparsely vegetated plain does have a few attractions. About 30 miles west of Odessa, you’ll find Monahans Sandhills State Park with almost 4,000 acres of sand dunes. The area was first discovered by Spanish explorers 400 years ago and now offers camping and other activities, including sand surfing. Texas Camel Treks are also held at the park. Yes, I said camels. Weatherford, Texas, United States dlpoolOffically started the treck. Do a couple of easy ones first.
Started with Dallas County. The old courthouse is now the "Old Red Courthouse Museum". Then up to the newest courthouse in Texas which is the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney. Proceeded then over to Denton and take photos of the Denton County Courthouse.
... of picture-taking, and two toasts. Jerry's toast was poignant and funny, and Kathy's was downright hilarious, a bubbly Texan in a short black and gold dress, plump, reveling in it all.
And so the day ends... It was another hot day (90's), we drove endless miles of freeway, saw big box stores of every description (Texans must think they have so much space they can plop down a big box any old place). We had breakfast with ...
We are here on the plains of Texas--or that's what it looks like: flat, stretching for as far as the eye can see. Getting here went smoothly, the young woman sitting next to me on the plane was flying on to Dallas for a meeting of Mary Kay cosmetics finance staff. And I think Ft. Worth seems foreign! The lady had on not a lick of make-up (not sales staff) but a long list of duty-free handbags to buy for ...

... their rituals and initiations. In addition to the 5 assorted helmets that they lined up along the field (think old solider on a Trojan horse with feathers in his helmet), there were also pink Hello Kitty backpacks for the rookies, and some sort of bet that involved one pitcher polishing the shoes of all the other guys (with his own spit and a towel, none the less)
Saturday Morning Vannessa had arranged to makes us Eggs and Bacon!

Last year I did this camp and we did a water fight at the end of the week so this year we did the same. It was messy but great fun, the kids loved it. They all brought the super soakers and water balloons! Our host Mum had been busy in the morning filling up water balloons for us so we had about 50 water balloons to throw. Like I said the kids were great and enjoyed themselves alot.
At the end of the water fight Clivia my host ...
... because of traffic that we were dreading the drive. So, I didn't want to love the hotel and regret staying so far out. We had originally book a hotel called the Brittania. It was one of the less expensive hotels, located near the Termini. The book said it wasn't a dangerous area but less of an attractive area. Can I say this? OMG! There was a homeless person 10 feet from the door of the hotel. We went in the hotel and it actually was nice but I ...
