Well, it was an opportunity to enjoy more wonderful rural scenery including grain silos, cornfields, cows, and farm houses, as well as a plenty of road kill and street pizza, including deer, raccoons, armadillos, squirrels and opossums. There were even bridges over the freeway designed specifically for livestock, labeled with creative names such as “Cow Bridge 154.”

    ... is right on the flyway for birds headed north for the summer, the northern most range for some birds, and lots of birds that is here year around. this really is a birders paradise. more variety than florida plus all the birds florida has and gators as well.

    there is also a turtle hospital here and this is one of the places the kemps ridley lays eggs.

    yes, we both can winter here in the future!
