... so not a complete disappointment! After we parted ("OK bye!") I wandered around a bit which was cool - lots of great residential buildings, parks (squirrel!), people and views. I eventually ended up on 7th Avenue and walked down in to 42nd Avenue which eventually took me back to my hotel min-afternoon. I really overdid the walking on Friday (or my Kathmandu walking shoes are not as good as they should be) and my blisters and feet in general were killing. ...

A great morning out. The cable car station is ...

... to skip it and find a food place off the side streets, we sat in there and watched all the people going past. At this point it had been 7 hours of waking and about 30 mins of sitting and we were both worn out. We decided to catch the local bus which takes you back over to New Jersey for the peace and quiet. We get off the bus in what seemed like ten minutes, look over the river and say goodnight to yet another breathtaking view of the skyline, until tomorrow New York! (Peace and quiet ...

... but was worth the $2 tip I gave him. We're really starting to run out of time now and the closest subway has only blue lines and we 're used to red lines. Funny but it turns out the blue line is closer for us than the red line. There's also green and orange lines so it's important not to be colour blind in the subways of New York. By the time we get back to our hotel we only have time for a quick dinner and off to Gigi. I've really been looking forward to this moment and don't want to ...
