Mom and I went to Food Lion and stocked up on, well, mainly cheese. It was such great weather I told her we needed to take the dog somewhere different to walk. All I could manage to convince her to do was to go down the highway to the Veterans’ Memorial Park. It’s basically a paved circular walkway. It wasn’t wonderful, but at least we weren’t sitting in the house watching the food channel!!

The flight was uneventful. Good for me, but bad for the blog. I think I’ll wait until something exciting – or even vaguely interesting – happens before I publish it for the world to see. Greensboro did look pretty from the air. Even though it was raining, the trees were colorful. Mother isn’t feeling well so I don’t think we’ll make it to the mountains this trip.
Packed up and headed out around 5 pm, a full 5 hours afer my original departure time. Oh well, departure days are generally hectic. Daily sesh then headed out to scoop Ryan up. Met up with Christa and Sumner, equipped Betsy (my car) with a roof bag, and headed down to the beach for a picture together. Standing with our feet in the Atlantic Ocean, we snapped the shot and headed out for the open road.
I called backseat.

... its former state (i.e. tan 1970's microwaves). The fun part (or at least initially) was realizing that all of the rooms had themes. Our room was the Demon Deacon room. The Demon Deacon is the mascot for Wake Forest, which was literally right down the road from us. So, it was exciting to find out everyone's theme, including our and the Arnold Palmer room. The downside... the Demon Deacon is a creepy creepy figure. There he was in a huge poster ...

When Bruce got up he started the coffee pot and I had three Texas size cups of coffee. It didn't dawn on me until we left for the airport at around 11:00 AM that the coffee probably wasn't decaf - too late now.
I must say that one of the high points of the ride for me was riding our bikes through the halls at Boon Elementary with the students ...
Today is a big day. Today marks the seventh anniversary of Andy's death.
.
I am amazed at the number of opportunties I have had to share Andy's story in the past seven years. I hope that each time I tell his story, whether it is to one person or a group of people ...
Hooray! My passport finally came in the mail yesterday at my California address! Phew! What a relief. Now I can finally breath some as I don't have to worry about that anymore. Yay! Time to start looking for my intra-European airfare and train options. I am so loving my summer thus far. Wow, can't believe I turn 29 in 7 days... :-X
Winston Salem, North Carolina, United States dragondoctorThis trip was really fun. I really liked actually working on the house and had a great group to work with. I met a lot of really cool people and had a great week. The amount of change in the house was amazing by the time we got done with it. The woman who lived there was a pack rat and had **** all over the place. There were coupons that expired 7 years before in her house haha. But we cleaned up most of the place and redid the entire living room and crawlspace.
