... so it was a little cool in the room. The tables were very large, high with kind of flimsy stools as evidenced by one tipping over with one of our members. Luckily he wasn't injured, he just scared everyone. Remember most of our members are 70 plus in age and he is pushing 80! ... the beginning of the rally. The dinner consisted of Gumbo w/rice, potato salad, and cookies. It was very good and filling. After dinner, some people played games while some of us just sat and talked with folks we haven't seen in months. The theme is Nautical and on Saturday there will be a costume contest. We were hoping to visit the Bluebell Ice Cream Factory in Brenham today but with the rain we a) didn't think they would be running and b) weren't sure about the road safety! So we cancelled on ourselves and instead were relatively productive at home instead getting clothing washed and food shopping done.
For dinner we had a homemade risotto of Butternut Squash and Apple wood smoke bacon. Yummy!
