Today was a great day. I was shooting for Flora Illinois and had no intention of riding the 150 miles to Indiana. For the first time in 2 weeks I had good riding conditions. When I started riding from Caseyville this morning it was calm and about 75 degrees out. By lunch time there was a light wind at my back and it had gotten even cooler. It looks like all the good weather vibes you guys have been sending me have worked. I was ...

After trekking across so much of the country I figure it's about time for an interlude regarding the in-betweens, the funny little interstices between place and place and story and story. After all, sometimes most of the fun has been getting there.
    So, a brief overview.

Trains: Hopped one out of an LA trainyard. Was scared totally shitless of being caught by train security guard talking on his walkie-talkie right next to our car. He turned out to be a phantom speaker ...

    Up and Ready...

OK - I am up and moving, and I feel like a zombie. I didn't sleep much. It kind of reminded me of Christmas and waiting on Santa. Anyway - Mom and Dad are up now and getting ready for work. So, they will see me off. Next stop ...
