    ... cross the Wabash River into Illinois over the Red Skelton Bridge.

    Once into Illinois I zigzagged up the eastern side, through many miles of corn crops, very dry and still standing, until I got to a nice RV Park well off the highway in Champaign. Minnie had truly had enough by then. I let her off the leash and she went crazy running in circles until she’d let off her pent up energy.

    ... in along the way. I’m always the one getting the dirt, and I make Evie pull up to it so the car blocks me from other people. Talk about awkward if I were to get caught. "Oh, I’m just scooping up some dirt into this sandwich bag. NBD." Or imagine explaining that to a cop. “Ma’am, why do you have so many bags of irt in your car?” We even have a gardening shovel to scoop it up with.

    ... the stagnant lakes. The forests have since filled in but the ponds/lakes remain testimony to what occurred here.


    We rode the scooter through many miles of campground roads and neighboring country roads. We also had a great time going horseback riding at local stable. Couldn't believe the price, $15 for a 45 minute ride through a lovely forested area.

    We had a great time in Champaign. I got to play pickleball twice and really enjoyed getting back on the court. I do miss playing! Our campground was very nice and the owners are very helpful. The campground is surrounded by cornfields with a small lake in the middle. I did fish one day but caught ZERO:((

    The University of Illinois is located in Champaign. It is a very nice campus and the grass and plants were so green. ...

    We ended up moving on to Champaign, Il since the weather was pretty bad. The campground we were heading to called us twice, saying we have a lot of mud. So we missed an area that had a few things for us to see but Champaign is a nice place and our campground is really nice.
