... However, the sights made it worth it. It truly was beautiful. When we got to the bridge, riding across was crazy. It was definitely the best way to do it. We then had a big downhill ride to Sausalito. That is a beautiful little town on the water. We (well I) wanted to catch the ferry back to Pier 41 after the 8 mile ride across the bridge to Sausalito. However, on each ferry there are a limited number of seats available ...

Day 3 San Fran hop on hop off bus tour

A travel blog entry by marcellinousa on Dec 17, 2014

Day 2 saw us up and out early again. We headed off to cafe Hollywood for a nice big breakfast, hoping this would last us all day until dinner as we had a full day planned seeing the city on a hop on hop off bus. Starting at fisherman's wharf we boarded the double decker bus and were the only people aboard, so we had a private guided tour. The guide was really informative and friendly. No one else boarded the bus and we stayed on the whole way until we ...

... life. So I turned round and got back on the 101 as soon as I could. And straight away I knew it was a good decision as there was a road sign signalling the road going under the freeway was called Bear Butts Road. HAHA! I wouldn’t have wanted to miss that!

I arrived at Point Reyes Hostel about 4.30 and loved it as soon as I saw it. It is literally in the middle of a wilderness. There’s no phone signal or Wi-Fi either so it really ...

Fisherman's Wharf and the Oakland A's

... Sam even made $5 out off it, which he obviously had to pitch back into the hat (after another 10 minutes of the sword swallower milking the crowd for more cash).

We headed over to the USS Pampanito, a restored WW2 submarine moored on pier 45. Dropping down into the belly of the ship it's hard to beleive that 80 men were crammed into the ship and hard to imagine what it was like deep down under attack from above.

    We hopped back on ...
