Holiday Inn Express Suites West Little Rock

... last ride thru because my motel is 5 mi south of I-40. The motel seems to have little on the city itself so I will peruse my guide book and see what else is noteworthy besides the Clinton Library. I got all excited that there was a barbecue place beside the motel, until I realized it was abandoned.

... three Yurts, two frame houses, one school bus converted to a dwelling, a bamboo house and a thatched house. Children come for a night separated into groups of differing pretend levels of poverty and needs. They are left at the different dwellings to work out how to work together to make dinner, trade with one of the other dwelling groups for what they lack, clean up, get through a night and make breakfast in the morning. ... be more of a traveler in my own town and do some of the more touristy things, as well as just get out and explore more. Hopefully I'll have my eyes open a bit more than I used to and take more pleasure in smaller things. I may update this blog some in the future on interesting things from around Little Rock, but not as often as I did when traveling. I also plan on posting here about any smaller trips I take later.

It was a very memorable tour that can only make you feel saddened that so much hatred exsisted and hopeful that times have changed and will continue to change as we as people treat each other with respect, kindness and tolerance. After speaking to the Rangers that work at the center, I left with a great deal of lesson plans and a CD that I can share with all my collegues at Dayton Street school. Ok ...

... even did a little singing for our car, about heading east bound, the song was a little out dated but we forgive them anyways. Their coaching skills make-up for it. I guess American Idol is out of the question..sorry! Parents we definately already MISS you!!!! I promise everyone is doing great and are a blast to have with us. Drove to the capitol of Little Rock and saw the statues about civil rights.
Drove home to our hotel .Big help the car's GPS.
Had dinner at Waffle;s House near the hotel.It is a chain restaurants all over the south.Had waffles and pecan pie.

Lunch at McDonald.s for lunch.
Drove toward Little Rock.Stop at an Arkanasas TIC and obtain maps,info and hotel coupons.
Stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport.Little Rock. and use the discount coupon.
Had a pizza dinner at Boston Restaurant.Our waitress is a lonely Filipino American.

... and I think it is hard for them to understand me as well. We're all speaking English, but struggling to understand the words. I plan to be on the road very early tomorrow as it is over 900 Km to Atlanta where my son lives and I'd like to get there well in advance of any storm coming north.
