Oh Italy. I loved it so much. I loved pretty much everything about it. Here are a few things I loved in particular:
Family is so important here. Many businesses we ate at, bought wine from, browsed products, or even just walked past were family run-and-owned for centuries. Can you imagine working at a company your great-great-great grandfather founded? It makes me appreciate what little family run spots we have in America even more.

I did a trial run this weekend for packing and it turns out these hiking bags are not very big. I know what you're thinking: "Of course, Meg. That's why everyone looked at you like you were crazy when you said you were only packing one hiking backpack."
Okay, so my spatial reasoning leaves much to be desired. BUT - I'm glad I did a trial run, because I realized a few things that were entirely unnecessary.
Paperless is the Way to Go
We've never taken such a complex trip but I think we have everything ready: luggage, tickets, just the right amount of planning, and of course flat Nicole and flat Ceanna.
The poor kitties know something is up but they will have wonderful company while we are away.
