We will post trip information here as soon as it starts. For 2010, we will continue planning the project and look for Sponsors that are willing to invest and support the Project. All indications in that regard is ...
Panama City, Florida, United States pamericas... a spot on the sand away from the kiddies and mullets...pretty good time.

Had a dolphin swim within 15 feet of me, probably due to our perfected dolphin and mermaid calls (I had nothing on Brad and Kat´s--but it worked).

We had no idea what we were getting into.

But this seems to be the only place on earth that serves Busch Beer in bottles--worth the price of admission.

Panama City Beach, Florida, United States lexicon.Because of a job interview in Tallahassee, FL, Larry and I decided to use the weekend prior to the interview to visit the surrounding area. We'd been to Florida lots of times, but never to Tallahassee or the Panhandle. We left early Saturday morning. It rained all the way down to Florida. I had packed a picnic lunch from Zoe's--chicken salad, pimento cheese, fruit, and cookies. We ate this in the car while driving. Our only stops were for gas and to buy ...
St. George Island, Florida, United States bdodson... alligator ponds! Mind you we haven't spotted the residents but we are told they are there and signs are posted everywhere warning of a $500 fine for feeding the alligators. Publix featured lobster tails today so we treated ourselves to a couple for lunch. This was the first time trying to use the broiler in the microwave convection oven. It's not quite like having an electric broiler but although ...
Panama City, Florida, United States momadunc... and Priscilla had taken off, they told me they were going down to the ocean to peruse the scene. Unfortunately, Jodie and I each thought the other one was taking pictures, so we have none to share. I probably wouldn't have taken any pictures anyway, because of all of the salt spray. Off we went with a couple of hrs. of driving ahead of us with Maudie in the co-pilot's seat. Driving the RV must be similar to driving a billboard down the road ...
Panama City, Florida, United States jodieandandy... the boat and sailing it to the pier at the condo. Then it's a calm fishing day. Except, the first boat's motor catches on fire, out in the water. The only replacement is a pontoon, which isn't the best for casting. But nothing stops dedicated fishermen/women. There's enough fish for dinner! No suprise.
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegraTo say my family lives for fishing is an understatement. Mom's father Lew Wright lived on the trout stream. When we were old enough to be "papoosed" on his back, we were out hiking and fishing. Not that we remember any of it at that age. Lew was well known in Western Pennsylvania for his fishing skills. He retired early from Alcoa ...
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegraWhen we got back to PJ's, in the Florida panhandle, I went right back to helping out on the phones and Terry started to search the internet for our new RV home. After about 2 months, he found one that he liked and that fit our requirements. It was down in Ocala, so he drove down to check it out. It turned out to be in great shape and a good deal (even less than the insurance check for the old RV ...
Vernon, Florida, United States chictravelers2... immediately quit both medications. We had meanwhile started back on the road and were in northern Alabama when she started seizing. I decided to return to FL with Lika to see if the vet could help her, which unfortunately, he couldn't do very much, so I had to make that very difficult decision to put her to sleep, so she wouldn't suffer any more. It broke my heart, but we had 16 good years together. We buried her on PJ's 'farm' and a couple of days later, I drove back up to Terry.
Vernon, Florida, United States chictravelers2... too far away to see what it was. Terry meanwhile, got a forked stick and also grabbed his hatchet and was prepared to kill the snake, but it slithered off. I hate snakes! We don't have snakes on Maui, now I have to be careful when I'm walking Lika, especially in rural areas. Time to move on towards The Rally in Daytona Beach, so we took our time and spent a night at one of the only WalMarts in all of Florida that allowed overnights, just outside of Jacksonville.
