Beautiful beaches.
Too bad they are flanked by zealots and bikers. Been a long time since I had seen such racism co-existing with constant praise to the almighty (I know, usually go hand-in-hand).
If you are looking for a confederate flag boogie board, they have plenty to choose from.
White sand, clear aqua water...and lots of country families compliments of Alabama. If you can ...
Today was another kickback day - with lots of housekeeping. Laundry, food preparation and more sorting were the order of the day. We had some minor leaks yesterday so towels etc. needed to be washed and dried and the awnings needed some dryer air before they are retracted. Yesterday I went through some bins of kitchen stuff and found some of the 'tools' I had been missing. Now if ...
Panama City, Florida, United States momadunc... before sunset--it had been raining but it only sprinkled a little while we walked. The beach reminded me a little of The Outer Banks--houses only, no condos or high-rises. The beach itself is quite beautiful--white sand.Dinner was at the Blue Parrot--a restaurant (maybe the only one open?) on St. George Island. We ate outside on the porch overlooking the ocean. I had Fried Oysters, which were very good; Larry had grouper & scallops--skimpy portions.
St. George Island, Florida, United States bdodson... of the coach is going through a general reorganization as we determine what we use most frequently and I have started a bin for things to be left behind at some time in the future. There are a few things that I wish I had thought to include but we will pick them up at a future date or get replacements enroute. All in all we are finding the coach very comfortable to live in. When we returned to the ...
Panama City, Florida, United States momadunc... t raining! Got to the campground and set up at site 36. We are right on the bay within 40 ft. of the water which will let us do lots of easy kayaking. It's pretty cold and windy, but the forecast is looking good for the upcoming week. Sunday, March 9th Woke up to a beautiful day. it's getting warmer and the wind has completely died down. I noticed another example of a "big rough-tough dude" walking a tiny lap dog and decided it's time to capture some ...

The only replacement is a pontoon, which isn't the best for casting. But nothing stops dedicated fishermen/women. There's enough fish for dinner! No suprise.
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegraTo say my family lives for fishing is an understatement. Mom's father Lew Wright lived on the trout stream. When we were old enough to be "papoosed" on his back, we were out hiking and fishing. Not that we remember any of it at that age. Lew was well known in Western Pennsylvania for his fishing skills. He retired early from Alcoa ...

We finally had most everything as we liked it, but there were still a couple of things Terry wanted checked out at the Tiffin service center in Red Bay, AL so when we finally left PJ's, we drove on up there in the NW corner of AL. While there, we also took the factory tour, which was very informative and made us happy that we had gotten a ...

We were enjoying our stay there with our friends and PJ's really good cooking, as well as, helping with the phones, so we stayed through Memorial Day. Even my little Lika got along fine with PJ's two big dogs. Speaking of Lika, I took her to local vet to get her annual shots and certificates (that we often had to show at some parks, plus we were planning to go into ...
Vernon, Florida, United States chictravelers2... it was on to the tiny town of Vernon, FL where our friend PJ has a house. PJ was supposed to be there at that time, but had a change of plans and couldn't leave Maui. Her friend, Vinny, also lives there and kept company with us. We were able to park in their big back "yard", next to their workshop garage and across from one of the two ponds on the property. Terry fished to his heart's content and caught a bunch of small stuff plus a couple of big ...
