Got up around 8am and Cindy and I got ready and headed out to their lake houses on Lake "Quiet. I forgot the name of the lake again. Very nice view, and very nice houses!

We went into the tiny metropolis of Salina to grab some burgers and fried okra at the PignNOut drive-up. We took out lunch back to one of the the ...

We checked ...

... the town of Radiator Springs. In both Missouri and Kansas there is evidence of financial struggles for businesses, with many closed, including the famous Soda Fountain in Baxter Springs, which is now some sort of tertiary learning centre. This was a real disappointment as inside you could see the place completely decked out as it would have been in the days when this sort of place would have been the social hub of the town. It ...

... show. Must be about the most famous person in town ! Leaving Baxter Springs we drove about a mile and then went in to Oaklahoma. We didn't know we have crossed the border until we realised the next town we passed through (Quapaw) was in OK. That is when we thought "Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore"... Through Commerce, then Miami (my-am-uh), Vinita (cool 66 murals - was supposed to have largest McDonalds but disappointing) so on we drove to The Ed Galloway's Totem Pole ...
