... a bottle of water as it cost me almost as much as the ticket... $4.50!! What??!! We thought we were going to get a private screening but at the last minute two guys came in! The film was pretty average, didn't rate it much! We walked out of the cinema to grey skies and a drop in temperature so we made our way back to the hostel just in time before it starting to pour down! Phew!

... the day of the flight to book seats (apparently, you have to pay, now, to ensure your seating). The airline could do nothing for us, but Phil muddled some Spanish to a kind lady who allowed us to sit together, even taking my middle seat. Random acts of kindness...but she did get half of my vegetarian meals when I gave up explaining the seat change.
For the 4th of July Angie and Jeff had a real treat planned: we were going to downtown San Diego to watch a baseball game between the Padres and the Giants, and then watch the fireworks over the big bay of San Diego.

Our apartment is located on Sail Bay, which is great for all water sports as the bay is reasonably sheltered. Within a 15 min walk you are on the sea shore of either Mission or Pacific beach.
