When we leave ships, we’re given our flight details a couple of days before so you don’t really know how you’re getting home til the last minute. I got mine and by some ridiculous database spit-out, I was given San Diego to Washington, Washington to JFK, JFK to Paris, Paris to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to London. The blog that almost had no visuals
... maybe it was one of those electronic ones they have now.
Head wind of 45 miles per hour as we were landing in New York, nice job by the pilot. What is it with birds and airports, are they checking the pilots flying abilities? Pigeon hanging out at baggage claim JFK. Long day with the early flight we caught a quick dinner in Jamaica (area by JFK), fell asleep about 9:00 to the sound of rain and winds.

Late afternoon was spent shopping and having a look around the gas lamp quarter. First stop was the Seaport centre which was all small independent shops and once again had a quirky feel. San Diego and a brief moment South of the Border
... a little bit flashy and awkward too, sure it is necessary but it just seemed to have a feeling of arrogance about it. I guess you have to go there to see what I mean but it's definitely not a place I would feel comfortable going to party in - which apparently is what a number of Americans do there (someone said this is why we didn't see any - because they go at night).

A Fattening Rainy Weekend
... the restaurant, but that didn't surprise me. If it's not barbecue or mexican food or In N Out Burger then he's usually disappointed. Poor guy has the most sensitive taste buds in the world! He thinks he's choking when he eats mashed potatoes. It the only thing this southern girl has trouble with when it comes to her man!
