... 8 slides there so we spent a fair amount of time relaxing on the 'beach' reading books and eating cheese steak, yum!! Brought a waterproof disposable camera to try and get some funny photos, managed to get some but no idea how they will come out!! Got some on the lazy river (mostly under the waterfalls!) and on a few of the slides (which will probably end up being a photo of the sky!!). There was one amazing slide that shot you down ...

We were both amazed at how many people came to the park that early!

Traveling from San Diego to the south rim of the Grand Canyon was easy - Pat drove. It was a toasty 3 degrees as we started the 10 mile trek down the Bright Angel trail to the Phantom Ranch. Only after a nearly disastrous slip and fall on an icy trail, did I learn to pay closer attention to where I was stepping. It's hard to study the ground in front of you when you're sucked into the paint-palette ...

... have some for later on! We visited the sheriffs department museum, a couple of market places. It was a cool place. Prob could have slept in and still seen it, but oh well. I also had my first real life American TOMS experience. We went I to a surf shop on Old Town and they were there. I wanted to get some but figured I better leave it till my planned spending spree at the flagship store. San Diego has been wonderful, the weather has been amazing and it's a really clean, green ...
