... The city was beautiful. Lots of old original homes. The 22 public squares are all dedicated to people who helped mold the city. Highway 80 was renamed to Victory Highway after WWI and a palm tree was planted for each fallen soldier from Tybee Island into Savannah.

After a 5 hour drive from Savannah we checked into the Hampton Inn in Opelika just outside of Auburn. There were very few people at the hotel so we were upgraded to a suite which was very spacious. The hotel was extremely clean and looked brand new. We utilized the fitness center which was complete with the right amount of machines, weight balls, a mat, towels, and water.
