Sand, waves and fresh water ?

... low in the trough.

The waves broke over where we were and just a little bit of my pants got wet but not to worry - this was fresh water and the pants dried nicely. It was hard to get my head around the notion that water and sand do not mean salt water. It would have been good to come at a time when I could have swum in the water and experienced that activity. Something for the bucket list, maybe.

... Information centre at Shipshewana where there were a number of quilts on display. They also has some quilt block patterns painted on the building. Next door at the Yoder hardware and department store, more blocks were painted on the building. In the car park, next to where the cars were parked, there was a section with hitching rails where about 6 horses and buggies were tied up.

... kayaking. Interesting that the same lake (Erie) was so pretty and clear in Erie, PA, and so polluted looking near Toledo. I did see some factories on the horizon so maybe that had something to do with it.
