Spoke too soon! Ron said he heard a number of trains last night and many used their horns. I heard nothing till about 7 this morning. We have also noticed that even though the interstate is a little less than a mile from here, we can hear it loud and clear this morning. Oh well, we probably would come back here just for the site layout and definitely for the price. Off and running by 10:30 this morning. Kind of a stressful drive as Interstate ...
The kids have been having a good time swimming at the campgrounds on the way back home and today they got a bunch of shots of the Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis. We had some awesome barbecue today at Baumbach's in New Paris, Ohio (pop. 1629). My goodness it was in the middle of NOWHERE near our campground but so damned good! We took an hour going one mile, then had another tie up for almost ½ hour. We left the camper with plans to eat at ...

In contrast to when we went to the Amish communities near Intercourse PA we saw many foals both draft and driving horses in the individual pastures. The other contrast was that we saw no mules in their fields for pulling the equipment, it was all work horses or driving stock.
We are staying at Deer Ridge Camping Resort. It is an older campground that did a wonderful job of leaving lots and lots ...
