I visited Phil and Tracy, their two lovely daughters, two Corgies (queens Elisabeth's favourite dog), James and William, a tall Jack Russel, Tobi, and two cats, Quentin and Angelina.

If it's really too late we can stay here another night I'm sure although we have not asked- this is actually the first night that we pay to stay in a marina so I guess it's not the end of the world if we have to stay on one more. Without even walking far off the marina grounds there is already more at our fingertips here than in most places we have been lately. We'll see what tomorrow ...
Just before leaving Mechanicville we got an email from Lock One Marina that they had still not received our filters.... at least we now knew we would be at our anchorage at a good hour! We left just after 8 am to tackle the last two locks in the Champlain Canal and the Federal Lock at Troy. We did still stop at Lock One Marina for diesel, and he filled us up so quickly we were even still able to make it through Lock 1 with the other sailboat Callipyge we had been traveling ...
... very tiny, and a Groundhog at the edge of the garden who loved the fallen apples, of which there were many-no wonder it had a fat rear end..... They also have been visited by the odd bear but we didn"t see one.
So all in all it was fantastic for Mary to see where her relative live and to spend time with them. And for both of us to have the time to explore the area, with expert tour guides. A big thank you to Tricia and ...
