Thanksgiving it's Dallas!

... memories are of his puppets and their cool house. I have always loved puppets and John's influence early in my life has always been evident. Eventually they left LA and moved back to Dallas, where they're from.
I spent Thanksgivings with them, some of their friends, and their other two daughters. Talk about feeling thankful. It was wonderful to spent time with Patty and ...

Dallas, TX stop

Our first stop was to see Tommy (brother) and Debbie (sister) at their house in Dallas. First thing we did was drop off my dry cleaning at my usual spot in The Colony, it is so much cheaper than anywhere in Austin. Afterwards we met Tommy and Debbie at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco to see the New Moon movie. Boy that was a snooze fest, I tried to ...

Ready to Travel!

Packing for a one-month trip overseas in generally one climate came quite easy after having to utilize the same packing gear for a trip 6x as long and with many varied climates earlier this year. With my 70-liter pack and a daypack fully loaded, and with two suitcases full of food, clothing and the like requested by my friends at ACA in India in tow, I was ready to head off to Bangalore via London!

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

... his influence on current events, the exhibit features documentary films, historic footage, hundreds of photographs, and artifacts. Two areas that appear as they did on November 22, 1963, highlight the exhibit: the sniper's perch and the staircase area where the sniper exited the sixth floor and a rifle was found. Also on display are cameras used in Deadley Plaza on that fateful day and a scale model of Deadley Plaza created by the FBI for use by the Warren Commission.

The flight was smooth, with just a few bumps as we got near Miami, and I had the entire row all to myself. In Miami I had an hour before the next flight, which ...

Two Days of Fairy Tales

... as they should went better than expected.  Spain is a wonderfully friendly and inviting country.  Driving in it is the last thing I want to do again, but I would love to go back.  The saddest thing about travel, when things go as well as they did on this trip, is that on your return, the sweetness of home is gone.  I entered my house, glad to be on terra-familiar, but thought, "Ah, Home.  Just home."  Today I go back to work.  People will ask me how the trip was, and at ...

AA sucks

American Airlines nearly ruins my trip....my original flight which was supposed to leave at 10:10am never leaves the ground....at 11:45am...AA has another flight bound for Tokyo and because I have carry-on luggage only, I'm allowed to board the flight and make it to Tokyo with 40 minutes to change planes and airlines ( Japan Air, they rock!!) . American Airlines...never again you *******s.

Change Planes

In Dallas we found our connecting gate and grabbed some food. It is a good thing we did as
there was no food served on the flight to Miami. I made a couple of shots from the plane as we approached DFW.
