We were tired from travel and went out to a local Vietnamese restaurant for a meal. A little bit of shopping then back to relax at the hotel. Quiet night.

Last minute decision to hit the road!

... on Sunday. We laid around all morning before we made a last minute decision to leave a day early (Saturday) to spend the night in Savannah. We would make it to Savannah for a late dinner at The Olde Pink House, a Savannah icon, and then have time Sunday morning to walk around Savannah before heading over to Charleston for our walking tour. I've never visited Savannah, so I was very pleased with this plan!

I also had lunch with my buddy Doug Wells, a
Huntsville-based engineer for NASA and fellow world traveler. We traveled together
in East Africa for a few weeks in 2001, crossed travel paths in Xian, China in
2006 and keep open the possibility of future world travels together, schedules

Wow..cold this morning. Electric furnace stopped working over nite. Have to figure out why. Turned on the gas furnace and it worked fine. First time hooking up the tow in the morning. Maybe we'll do it the night before next time! Heading for south of Birmingham. A little longer drive today. Stayed at a municipal RV park. Hoover. Parking lot with full hookups. New and clean.
