While in Bowling Green we went on a tour of Mammoth Caves National Park. Almost 400 miles have been surveyed in the Mammoth Cave system. The tour was only 3/4 miles but included about 500 steps so we are pretty sore today. We were kind of disappointed, we have seen prettier caves. To be fair we did only see 3/4 miles of it.
We also went to the National Corvette Museum. The GM plant where they build the Corvette is right next door.
... War or history buff, Hwy 40 is close to many civil Civil War sites including Shiloh, Parsons Crossroads. You can also see the Natchez Trace, a historical path first used by the Native Americans, then by European settlers.
Within the same area, we saw signs for Casey Jones’ home and Railway Museum. Since Dave is a railroad buff, I know we’ll be back here.
