... for free. For a Pilot, it's a decent-sized one, so it'll be a good place... Just so I get there before dinner-time & can find parking. Has Internet & stuff too, so that's cool. Well, I guess I should head out. I'm glad to have found this site, and will enjoy learning to create more exciting journals. Keep the shiny side up. Tony

Let your memory be your travel bag."
What to do? What to do? Some of us (to distraction) make the simplest things quite complicated. This is one of them. Beginn-ing with the last word of the quote "bag." If we were going to pack 20 or less lbs. we would need a special bag as a carry on (and off and around China ...
David was home and received the documents that would allow us to enter China. We anguished (rather I did) as to how much should be written on the Chinese Visa application. Should we write down all 30 (thirty) something places that would be visited? Should we mention Tibet? Should we write the words "retired film editor" on the application? So many questions, so few answers. There was much discussion along with anxiety as to what exactly was and is expected by ...
Mobile, Alabama, United States gonzdomWe woke up in Houston and got on the road, knowing we had just one more night before we'd be home. It actually was a difficult ride - the kids were restless, lots of bathroom breaks etc.... But we finally got to Mobile around 8 pm. We had promised the kids swimming - but there happened ...
Saraland, Alabama, United States jspringeRob Troke entry: Day 29, May 31 We head to Johnny's RV camp a few miles past Mobile to regroup. Johnny's dad, Red greets us in an apron at the lead trailer. He's the cook in the little country buffet restaurant they operate. We park way at the back of the camp close to a stocked fishing lake/large pond. The shower and toilet shack is way back up at the front of the campground. The concrete toilet stalls are bizarre in that they are only wide ...
Theodore, Alabama, United States tednimsRob Troke entry: Day 28, May 30th We pick up XM Radio and after some searching, drop the truck off at an auto audio installation place. Turns out Montgomery cab service is still in the Neanderthal stage of evolution (it's the State Capital?!). The fourth cab company I call has a car available and running today - Saturday (one company said they have two good cars but only one good driver whom they're trying to locate) - and said they'd be to us in two ...

I got into Mobile and stayed with my Grandparents, who I hadn't seen in quite some time. This was very nice to be in a safe place where I could just relax and talk about things that had happened over time, and whatnot. As with San Antonio I didn't do too much other than to rest and visit with my family, and eat some good food. But this was a great stop nonetheless, and I look forward to visiting my roots in Mobile again.
... Hobie how to use her new TV we watched Superbad in Blueray. She didn't know that when you buy and HDMI cord you actually have to use it for it to work. She was impressed by its upgraded quality from the standard A/V cables. After some good old McLovin' quotes we hit the hay. Hobie was such the hostess and woke up in the morning and made us coffee and biscuits. A nice start to another adventurous day. We are now in Louisiana heading to a Bayou ...
