... elk and deer here. Many clear lakes and ponds and rivers and the sky is so blue and then there are the mountains in the foreground. Beauty everywhere you turn. This went on all the way south through Alberta and some of the road was so straight that you could see 10 miles ahead of you with the hills and checking the minutes it took to get to that far hill down the road. We stayed last night at a Lions Centenial RV park in ...
Great Falls, Montana, United States schroederdTwo years ago when we did a house swap we spent a month fishing the Missouri river , so when we came back into town we stopped at the old house, filled the water tanks , and headed for a small campsite on the river, only known by the locals. We spent two nights here, Brent fished the river with a friend, and Jo knitted socks.

Also our computer died and we feel we are missing our right arm, hence the short entries
Cascade, Montana, United States brentandjoAfter working until midnight most days this week , including Wednesday night, the harvesters were rained out on Thursday by noon . They are near finished here in Montana but need a few more good harvest days. A wedding at the end of the month in Lethbridge is adding an additional layer of urgency for some of the crew. I spent Friday morning assembling a fibre art piece, preparing it for quilting. The picnic table was the ...
Great Falls, Montana, United States momaduncDon finally slowed down enough today that when he tried to watch a movie he fell asleep. We walked a bit after supper and I had to share my Montana sunset with you. There is a small park just outside the fence of the park. Although we are located on a noisy corner where two main roads come together it is shady and handy to downtown.
Great Falls, Montana, United States momadunc... was that this wasn't remote. It was only 35 miles to one town, 45 to another and an hour to Great Falls. She had already made at least one triip to Great Falls that day for parts. The roads into these farms are gravel, as opposed to 'dirt', and if one is familiar with driving on loose gravel (read round stones) the driving is not bad. Unlike in Colorado, many of the farmers still live on the land where they farm.

While this summer's adventures may not be ...
Great Falls, Montana, United States momaduncEven though it was the last day, we decided to check out the Montana State Fair. The livestock was gone but there were enough exhibits to keep us busy for a couple of hours. The afternoon show featured Amanda Overmyer, an American Idol Season 7 finalist.

Don was talking to some ...

Great Falls, Montana, United States nocknock... and the breeze is perfect. What a great beginning to our trip. Our official group tour began with an evening (private) visit to the Lewis and Clark National Historic Interpretive Center. We needed more time to see the exhibits, but we had a great catered dinner, open bar and lots of socializing. Our tour group consists of more than forty people who have travelled with the Historian Emeritus of the National Park ...
Great Falls, Montana, United States linda_allen... when I celebrated a 62nd anniversary. Don't think that will ever happen. The ICE show was very good. It had numerous messages. Most of them about faith. When couples skate and the guy is holding the girl by the legs and swinging her around with her head just inches away from the ice they both need faith in the other that they will do what they should be doing. If not, someone is going to get hurt. Then there was this amazing acrobatic skater. They pulled this 6 foot high ...
Great Falls, Montana, United States cobra1899... again, until there are no snowbirds left north of the border. They are all following the geese! So here we are in Montana, land of the big sky and on Sat afternoon that beautiful blue sky opened up as it chased the gloomy clouds away. Great falls sits on the Missouri river, along a stretch that has five "falls" as the river descends about 500' The Missouri incidentally drains southwards to the Gulf ...
