... here and put up on blocks for some unknown reason.
So we turned north back on US-287N and expected to continue our leisurely ride through the Montana countryside, cruising along at about 70 mph when a little orange sign warned us of 35 mph road construction ahead. Then there was the dreaded "Loose Gravel" sign that most motorcycle riders learn to fear. Now the first mile or so wasn't too bad as there were some well worn paths in the gravel, ...

Day 5 ........We stayed in West Yellowstone, MT last night, which is right at the west entrance to Yellowstone. We headed back into Yellowstone Park and about 6 miles in the traffic started to back up. We had a herd of buffalo walking right down both lanes and they would not move for cars. They were heading down the road to a meadow area and if a car got too close the bulls would turn toward the cars and let everyone know who was in charge.

Heidi is wondering what the heck has gotten into me so I pull out the flattened muffin and hand it to her. “I don’t care,” she says, “I’m hungry.” I continue to laugh as she plays with the muffin as she is eating it. Not too far up the road there is a sign announcing that Red Deer is not too far away. “Well, I am going to need to have a pee break, so we should stop in ...

... Capital. We drove through the breadbasket of Montana. It is the old Blackfeet Territory. It was spectacular. It was also part of the Lewis and Clark Trail. It was well worth the drive on the backroads to see the local communities. As we got closer to dark, we decided to head to Great Falls, MT for the night. We treated ourselves to McD. We are staying at a local RV park. Last spot… the state fair and rodeo are in town. Yippee ...
