... her metal scooter for missy to ride around the block a couple of times which was very kind of Kat. Missy & daddy came back & then we chatted for a bit before the kids said that they were hungry so we started getting lunch ready. Dan ended up making us some lovely grilled cheeses with some veg & fruit to round it off. Once we were all done with our meal we did some clean up & then we changed into our swimsuits so we could go to the pool.

Footnote: Kayenta had been found abandoned or never owned at age 4 months on the Kayenta Navajo Reservation NE of Flagstaff and turned in to Second Chance shelter in Flagstaff Winter '06, and I adopted her soon after. She's lived in Flagstaff, Gainesville FL, Bellingham WA, Glendale, and finally Tucson, and leaves behind her canine and feline sisters (who, btw, do NOT act like they even notice she is gone, bless their goofy little hearts).

Angel lodge it got busier and we started seeing people from our coach
trip. Visiting the Canyon during monsoon season has it's benefits as
we pretty much had the trail to ourselves. When we got to the lodge
we drunk water from the Canyon spring, and had time to quickly grab a
cup of hot chocolate and Earl Grey . . .. bandage up Lynn's feet and
buy some postcards. On the way back we stopped at another little
service station on route ...
... for luggage. I comparison a group of serious people on 25 Harley motorcycles came past me going the other way refusing to acknowledge my 'bikers' wave and they were followed by a chase van containing supplies and their luggage.
As you can guess, I completed the other large existing strip of Route 66 which is about 88 miles. As I go further East, the smaller the sections of Route 66 exists today. The afternoon down into ...
