Took it easy today in New Mexico. I let the girls sleep late, and then we went in search of the internet to Socorro, about 20 miles away. It's pretty country here, and we're staying in a lovely Adobe home up in the hills.

Tomorrow we're up early and off to Colorado near Aspen to stay with cousin Carl & his family.

We spent today in Carlsbad Caverns in southeast New Mexico. It was very educational, but more it was incredibly beautiful and awe inspiring. The caves are magnificent. We entered through what they call the Natural Entrance. It takes you on a mile of steep switchback trails that bring you to the Big Room. It was a bit cold down there in the 56 degree temperatures, but compared to the 105 degrees up top, I found it quite refreshing. We actually ate lunch down there ...

Just a heads up it is in the middle of know where literally. 30miles south of Socorro off the I-25 but i thought worth it.

Camp: Caseys Campground. Just as we got used to Texas, we're already in NM, I thought Texas was supposed to be so big. All the cows and corn and cotton are left behind and are replaced with red rock vistas and mesas as far as the eye can see. Of course, the weather is much warmer already.
