It was a very strange drive to California today. It should have been great, but for some reason I ended up wearing the crankypants, and by the time I got to the hotel I was in a very snarly mood. It eventually passed and the day ended on a very high note, though.
I was on the I-5 for, well I don't remember exactly but I think at least 200 miles yesterday. The highway crossed into California while going ...
... I see that our country is much more than what we are bombarded with daily. Our last day in San Fran came too soon. Like many places we were able to visit it wasn't enough time to take it all in , but it was enough to know that we want to return, soon! Across the road there was a deli kind of place which sold handmade chocolates for $70 a pound (wow) so we bought $3 chocolates: a peppermint, a mint one and a champagne one. They were all decorated really pretty and the peppermint was by far the tastiest and was really rich and super green inside. DELICIOUS.
We went back to the motel and packed our bags in readiness to drive back to San Francisco the next day and then enjoyed our sleep on a real bed ...
