Today was a beach day. We headed back into the city to explore Coronado Island, which sits in the San Diego Harbor. To get to the island you need to cross over a beautiful, long bridge that rises high over the harbor and gives the passengers an amazing view of the city. ... than we initially thought. We could only find beds of tiny ones, or little clams. Not fair sized ones :( But we still had a fun time, and I sampled some Hawaiian barbecue food, very interesting. That evening the boys went fishing and I went shopping with Tori, and we picked up Thai food on the way back home.

That evening we stayed at Dom and Tori's place and then spent the next morning doing laundry and preparing for the next few days on the road.

We spent the day at San Diego where the prime reason was to visit the USS Midway Museum which is one of America's largest serving aircraft carriers from 1945 to 1992 and also home to the Navy's Top Gun fighter school. It was the only carrier to serve the entire length of the Cold War and beyond.
