This national treasure is worth the trip, even if it is a few extra miles. The views are incredible, and the history is interesting. You cannot appreciate the bridge until you have seen it from either the park or even better, from the boardwalk.

... out my route, I took my time packing up and had breakfast at the coffee shop. To appreciate how small Gambier is, the town consist of one Inn (with the only restaurant), one coffee shop, one deli, one very small grocery store (that is not allowed to sell wine on Sunday but can sell beer), and a tavern. ... and overwhelming. It was then I fully realized what I was actually doing, it all became so real. I was so lucky to be upgraded to quantas (around $1,500 more than united) we got great food, great customer service and great entertainment. I personally spent my time watching mad men and listening to the music they had. I was so tired and drained on this flight I got to the point of thinking "what are you doing, you can't leave these people for six months. You can't handle big city's." ...
