Day 31: Gambier OH to Ripley WV

... out my route, I took my time packing up and had breakfast at the coffee shop. To appreciate how small Gambier is, the town consist of one Inn (with the only restaurant), one coffee shop, one deli, one very small grocery store (that is not allowed to sell wine on Sunday but can sell beer), and a tavern. ... seemed stereotypical, for example the fire fighters with their charred uniforms and strong, loud accents. The next shock was the toilets, I had no clue on how to flush them. I stood there for ages looking trying to find how to do it, then eventually found this little black button. Fancy smanchy. This repeated again at Chicago airport (and yes I got sleep on the plane ride this time) when I realized that after you get off the toilet seat it counts down on a digital monitor ...

Day 46 3rd October, Carthage Gap, Coolville. OhioLazy start, another fine day – that is until breakfast when the grey rains arrive! Luck's actually on our side cos in Ohio on the other side of the river, it’s already been raining three days.
