      ... touch. One stingray seemed to think it was a puppy and kept trying to jump out of the water to be petted. (A big highlight for Carla) And the second was the sea otter area. These beautiful animals where mostly asleep and not very active at the time, but were still a huge highlight for me as I had never seen them before.       ... the long winding road down to Sausalito, a quaint bayside community on the opposite shore to the big city itself. Tired after some 3.5 hours of biking up and down hills and bridges we settled down to a nice lunch in a small quiet fish restaurant next to the marina after which we browsed around Sausalito and hung out in the sun before joining the long queue of tourists (most on bikes) for the ferry back to the city.       ... of 3 prisoners who worked for over a year to dig out access to the outside from their cells using stolen spoons - they were last seen going into the cold water between Alcatraz and the mainland and it's presumed they died in the attempt for freedom. We saw the library - where Al Capone worked, and the 3-tiered rows and rows of cells. So small, with just a bed, a basin and toilet, and a couple of very small shelves.       We had a bit of a sleep in this morning and then headed to breakfast at the hotel. Mark did gym for the first time and loved it. We then headed to Fisherman's Wharf to look around for a bit. After a quick tour of Chinatown, we headed back to the wharf for some lunch. Mark had a cheese, bacon burger and I had a salad. We then tried some delicious ice cream.
