We have now left the magnificent scenery of the mountains, and are now driving across the prairie with not much to see. We are going to spend the night in Rawlins. It here we meet a few interesting characters and spend some time conversing with them. Lots of cute little cotton bunnies wandering around the camp ground. Looks like we have a nice night here in Rawlins, as it can be one very windy place.

Getting close to Evanston, WY we come to the crest of the hill and we have a long straight road and then as we start to rise to another crest we see about 2 dozen turbines. Usually we ...

    ... Bill and Calamity Jane.

Then like the majority of gold rush prospectors we found our hopes dashed upon discovering that the Broken Boot Goldmine was closed for the season and we couldn't take the tour or go panning. With heavy hearts we left the black hills and headed west into Wyoming.

Next stop was Devils Tower Wyoming, Americas 1st national monument and favorite UFO landing spot. We took some pictures but missed out on any close ...

... The minute we crossed the state line it was just a whole 'nother world! I couldn't believe such beautiful primitive land existed! I'm not sure if it's what I expected... I didn't really have any preconceived ideas about this state - I just knew I would be impressed :) The prairies are vast and rolling hills are plentiful. We are at about 6500 feet, so there are still some peaks around us, but it's mostly hills. We are actually in a desert in ...
