I have had a head cold since November 25th. I have been taking emergen-C, Dayquil, Zicam and drinking lots of fluids to ensure I will be travel-ready. I have also been sleeping in a Field and Stream Mummy bag in order to stay warm and completely sedate.
While awake I have been preparing for my trip by incorporating a list to help me make the packing easier:

What I had failed to realise however, was that the Americans, for reasons unbeknownst to me, call fizzy apple juice 'cider' and so I had no alcohol. Boo! Regardless, my kiddy drink was very tasty,and we again congratulated ourselves on choosing the sleeper cart for its many perks. On our walk back through Pike we grabbed some supplies for the afternoon – a cheese platter and a gigantic fresh baguette. I headed into the closest Starbucks (I KNOW! but they have free wifi!) and checked the CS website. Tried to call him, again.
Him and another couchsurfer were in starbucks... a few blocks down.
AA: 'Ok, I have some things to do so I'll pick you up here at 10pm'
