... say. <br>Yeh, she says, our hotel is freaking us out? <br>Freaking you out, how?<br>Yes, with all these hurricane procedures, pool is shut down, bar is closed, pain in the ASS.<br>Hurri-what?<br>Creating emergency hurricane disaster areas in the foyer, lots of netting, stocking up with food, hopefully stocking up with some Jack D, ha ha ha ha.<br>Hurricane?<br>Hmm, hurricane Ida and I like only get seven days off, I´m like ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico john.boyd.123... 8217;t check credentials and ask us to make our own way to the marina. I cross my fingers the decrepit boat will make it. After a brief and useless briefing our Divemaster (if he really is that qualified) ties his wetsuit arms around his waist (he’s far too tubby to be able to wear it properly) and off we go. Considering it’s a fairly deep dive (between 20-30metres although it varies as we are led on a very seasaw profile) they ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfran... shop owners selling their local wares. Walking the main pedestrianised road is like running a gauntlet. Everyone is 'your Amigo’ and I’m soon irritated. The beach is packed, every inch of sand is taken up with holiday makers.<br><br>There’s nothing else for it, we decide to go diving. Hopefully the sea will bring some peace. We decide to dive with a French Dive company, Mexico Blue Dreams, as ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfran... it looked so cool when up ahead was a grey blur, which as we got closer, became a clear image of a seven meter whale shark. <br> For those of you who are freaking out right about now, whale sharks are the biggest fish in the world. They are giant speckled sharks that have huge mouths but only eat plankton, not people.<br> I swam my fastest to catch up, could seen in absolute detail the stunning creature. Using all my effort I kicked and paddled to keep up along side ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico jaspergreeneAfter Palenque, we made the long drive across the Yucatan peninsula to Playa Del Carmen. This was my mom and Don's favorite spot. The city center had lots of great restaurants, a long pedestrian street, cool bars and beach clubs, and tons of topless Euros. It's also very central to other things such as Cancun, which is about a half hour north, Tulum, which is about 45 ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico sigridsb... got a good feeling about this bit of Mexico and want to come back for more. Gillian headed for a nap while Stewart had a snack and then lazed in the Jacuzzi again - they'll be a Stewart shaped indent in the Jacuzzi by the end of the trip! A little Indian food and it was time for some chat and cocktails - and a tough quiz that Maxine had set! A lot of sun (not used to it) had tired us out...so bed about 11.
Playa del Carmen, Mexico skcoll... dorado and a couple of pitchers of margaritas and it was all so delectable! The band was not your typical touristy mariachi band, they were talented classical musicians ...
Akumal, Q Roo, Mexico nwcreolelady... had planned on going to the beach at Tulum but we were just too tired. We got back to the hotel around 6 after we stopped by the bank. Dinner was at La Palapa Hemmingway. It was overpriced but good. I got salmon with three cheeses and Chad got some shrimp combo. After walking around fifth for a while we decided it was getting late and we would go back home for bed. We got back to the room and it was only 9:00. nevertheless we went to bed.
Playa del Carmen, Mexico jaclynandchad... like this place, they have great food, a killer view, and music it seems every night. Tonight they have the drum band we saw Friday night at Mezzanine. Funny, I didn't notice any "Tour Buses" along the road this time. I really enjoyed the pizza I had last time at Zamas, so tonight I try the Foccacia Pizza. Again, this is a fantastic pizza, but alas it is no match for Chris' Lime grilled fish. I lose the meal selection again. We ...
