This place is old and in need of refurbishment. The lady who checked us in was pleasant to deal with, so that's a plus. There's a huge HUGE Walmart a mile down the road - very interesting experience shopping there as we're visitors to the USA.

Today is the last day of a week in Foley, AL while at the Florida Travelcade Club rally. It has been a fun week with good friends and lots of food and drinks. We went to the Foley Shrimp Festival, the road kill cafe, Jimmy Buffett's sister's restaurant called Lulu's and a number of other places that I can not remember the names of, ...

They seemed almost like one plane at one point as they were flying so close together. I was worried that they'd crash!!!! We met a lovely older couple who had an RV and had been camping there for two weeks. They were from Atlanta and were sad to be leaving at the weekend. They were super-nice. Jonathan and I took a little glass of wine to the beach ...

... 1.98 per gallon. I was amazed to see fields and fields of cotton trees! That was a first. We stopped for pulled pork for lunch at a cute road side restaurant and kept going and going until Pensacola, Florida and stopped at a hotel in Golf Breeze. It was nice to see the water and palm trees again. And to feel warm ...

    ... Hannah bark.

Day 6 of 49 (Sep 12). I sent a text to son, Joe, when we arrived and after work, he called. He and Wendell just left to visit the NAS Museum. It's not a first for either of them, but they have one thing in common: they never get tired of looking at airplanes. Myself, I don't care if I ever see another airplane museum, so they are having some guy time and I get "alone" time.

... here! It is amazing! It's an Irish pub. Cool atmosphere, big portions. After dinner, Riley showed us the sights around town and took us to Pensacola Beach. We didn't stay out late because Evan and I want to get up early and head out. But it was nice to visit with a good friend before we left.
