Old and in need of refurbishment

This place is old and in need of refurbishment. The lady who checked us in was pleasant to deal with, so that's a plus. There's a huge HUGE Walmart a mile down the road - very interesting experience shopping there as we're visitors to the USA.

... that was worth the $6.00 entry fee.

Our dining experience in Tallahasee saw us enjoying a large and tasty Domino's Pizza and a rather good bottle of Californian Pinot Noir in our room on one evening - this really was 'living the dream'. We also experienced Sonny's Pit BBQ for some tasty gut filling pulled pork with a couple of 'sidekicks' and we appeared to be two of the few in the packed restaurant choosing the likes of broccoli, green beans ...

Afterward we packed up our stuff and relaxed on the beach, It was a little chill but great to sit and relax. We were having a nice SD brew when the heavens opened and it started pouring with rain! Fortunately there was cover just steps away.

After it cleared up we went back to the beach and relaxed until we ran ...

... The wooden boardwalk has been replaced by a concrete path that runs right along the coast. A lot of the houses have been reconstructed, this time they are up on high piers. A safeguard of any more hurricanes that will no doubt one day happen.

A quick trip through Mississippi and we were now entering Alabama where we were to stay for two nights before heading into Florida for the weekend to see our lovely young friend get married.

After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny! I enjoyed a walk on the beautiful beach and a couple fantastic sunsets over the ...
