Old and in need of refurbishment

This place is old and in need of refurbishment. The lady who checked us in was pleasant to deal with, so that's a plus. There's a huge HUGE Walmart a mile down the road - very interesting experience shopping there as we're visitors to the USA.

... Louisiana we stayed at Chicot State Park. Chicot is surrounded by water and bogs, you know what that means right - Alligators!! We unfortunately we didn't see any. Although I am keen to spot one I would love it to be from the top of a bridge or a car. Not riding right next to one or deciding to sit down for lunch next to one... At the camp site many people came to inform us we were in the wrong place.... How could that be? Well we had finally ...

... Also, neither of us were certain that we liked oysters, in fact both us were almost certain that we did not like them, but against our better judgment, we tried them and REALLY enjoyed them! Boy howdy did Dr. Seuss know what he was talking about when he wrote Green Eggs and Ham. It never hurts to try something new!

That night, we went out to a house party like the ones you see in movies, where there's a huge mansion decorated to the nines with sand in the back yard, full ...

      ... of that powerful fact.

One person stepped to the forefront and spoke to me loud and clear as if he were in the very next seat: My dear, departed Dad. He had amazing Strength in every way. He also had a brilliant mechanical mind in his time and could fix anything. I never saw him quit till the job at hand was done. Nobody did. I just listened to the simple words he spoke in his confident, calm tone as the great challenge ...

... everything we saw - the white sandy beaches and the wooden clad bars. Each day was fun packed starting with a morning workout in their garage, courtesy of Heather who put us through our paces with exercises that we hadn't been accustomed to for a while. This routine was a good addition as we ate a lot of fried food and drank a lot of beer during our stay so it kept us alive!

Each day at some point ...

... t strangle or otherwise murder me, 'cause I'm now typing this blog.

Next will be photos from outside and inside this wonderful museum. Josh must've thought this guy needed a hug - I think he's a signalman on an aircraft carrier? The photo of the family of statues made me think of our dear friend, retired Captain Chuck O'Reilly, his wife Norma, and their family. There must've been a lot of homecomings like this. I think the next one was ...
