... tougher security than at the airport but it was worth it as we did a tour of the power plant which was pretty amazing. The tour guide mentioned they he'd experienced 15 years of drought and water levels were way down in the dam. This was clear when we got to our campsite at lake mead where many of the facilities were closed due to the lack of water. Finally we made camp for our last night with Richie Valens :( sadly we have to give him back ...

Packing our last belongings to face the trip ...

... off the highway, anna was not impressed with trees at all and truth be told they are not what you'd expect a 3500 year old tree to be like. They grow extremely slow at the 10 000 feet altitude so the real old ones are only maybe 7 or 8 metres at best and look quite shabby but please when your in the presence of a 3500 year old living thing you get taken back considerably, well I did anyway! Anna had a little io and under on ...

Once their performance was over we ended up chatting to them for ages about Britain and history and stuff, and then Alex and I got to do a bit of archery which was cool. They were fun to talk to and one of them was telling us how he had a wedding to go to in the UK in October and planned to pull the same skit in the church by standing up and in his Western drawl declaring that the bride ...
