... No fights, no melt downs, no major mechanical failures and like I said, only 1 day of rain!

So the long and short of it Dear Readers, is that we did it. We learned to ride a bike in 50 days or less. We did it with a lot of love from you all, great new friends along the way, and with each other, even when it was up hill all day.

It's now January 1, 2012 - almost six months since I got back from Australia. I really, really, really enjoyed the experience, but it doesn't feel like it was as "life-changing" as a lot of people tend to make study abroad sound. My sister was kind enough to buy me a ticket home for Christmas! Thanks Shannon! I wouldn't have been able to come home otherwise. It was a quick, spur of the moment trip so I'm sorry that I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to (or even let most of you know that I was going to make it). My trips are so short and my family doesn't like to share me for the short time they have me. I should be in Boston in 2012. And can't wait to see everyone ...

... than most economy seats used to be, getting maybe 90 minutes of sleep in the process. We arrived at RDU at around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, got a cab home, finally reached Wednesday, showered, and crashed, sleeping for about eight hours. We now both feel like our heads are wrapped in cotton, but that will pass. ... was het de eerste keer in de States en was het even wennen. Bijvoorbeeld omdat je hier vrijwel nergens kunt roken. Maar ook omdat de omgangsvormen hier zo'n warm bad zijn. En ook omdat ze heel veel in de auto moest zitten. Claar stelde net als Reineke telkens voor om te gaan lopen. Ook zij raakte overtuigd van de afstanden die dat onmogelijk maken. En het 'share the road' van fietsen en auto's trok haar ook niet zo...
Omdat wij vroeger allebei zeer geinteresseerd ...
