Monterrey - City of Mountains

... Cavazos' home. Jaime's faithful old widowed mother, Sra Maria, is in her mid-eighties. Her husband and faithful elder, don Isaías Cavazos, died a few years ago. Nice to be with them for supper all together with several relates. Wonderful feeling and fellowship with them. That evening Jon and I walk two blocks away to Benjamin & Rita Lopez' (Jaime's sister) for the night, after some music---they also have a piano.

The Arena sounds grandiose, but the construction is crude, adding to the ambience and mysticism of the lucha. There are three tiers of seats, the first starting mere feet away from the ring ...

Going to watch a bull fight, walking around Merida, going to the cenotes (underground water hole) or going to the beach. For the whole bus ride to Progresso it was pouring rain and then when we finally arrived to the little shanty town in appeared that everyone was trying to leave Progresso and that maybe we should stay on ...
