... Then up the funicular to the mountain overlooking Como, not happy with view at that height we decide to walk up to the lighthouse. Snow covered following last weeks cold blast we make our way up - a long way - finally arriving at 'the lighthouse'. The view was spectacular, well the view as best it can be here with quite dense haze/smog. We could see the water but sadly the Swiss Alps, whilst could be seen, were blurry. (Switzerland is ...

Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

... I could book for 8.00 (when the soccer had finished!)

It was definitely the best place we've been to in Milan. The dish of the day would have to have been the octopus in olive oil and lemon. It was so sweet and tender. We also had speck (a bit like parma ham) on hot buttered toast (had one of each and shared). Then for mains we had tuna steaks and potatoes (had forgotten that the Italians don't do veges with their mains!), then when it came ...

      Gondola and Milan

... has 5 flights of stairs that we had to walk through to get to our place and no elevators. With our luggage, it was a trek, but we did it. The place and the host is really nice so it was worth it.

We knew there weren't that many things to see or do in Milan so we took it easy. We went to the nearest bar for apertivo aka happy hour. Apertivo means you buy a drink and you get a buffet style food. You can also eat as much ...
