    Wednesday May 7th. I arrived at LAX. Anxious to get started on a mountain of work. I got to the house, went through all the mail and then off to visit dad. What a beautiful day, I thought. Not knowing in a few days, Southern California was heading into a heat wave.

    ... amazing. Made me remember as a kid and Sunday night 6.30 when we watched Disney. Then we hung around for the Fantasmic show at 10.30. Another awesome show based around Mickey with all the characters. Just unbelievable what they do. Very mesmerizing. Two children fast asleep pretty well as soon as the head hit the pillow. Do it all again ...

    ... with the blog….LA/large american urban sprawl/ city of angels/ you've all watched movies, you know where and what LA is. Seeing it in the flesh is kinda weird - you see the beauty and magic of it all but with the ugly warts and fat bits showing as well. firstly, you don't hear english being spoken that often.     ... The array of different foods and smells were unbelievable.
    The shops at The Grove were all upmarket but there were still a few that lured me in. One of these was "Barnes & Noble" the wonderful amazing bookshop. I could have stayed inside its 3 floors for hours, and they don't mind if you do, in fact they provide lovely comfy chairs for you to lounge in and read their books.

    Then to another performance of Aladdin, so that Pa could join in, and the boys could get another fix of the crazy Genie. It would appear that he ad-libs portions of his performance, because some of the lines they were waiting for didn't happen, and others were inserted. Still fun though.
