      ... They will try and meet us somewhere on the pier for a drink, but probably closed too. A beautiful day to sit by the pool for our bodies first exposure to the sun. We had our Christmas dinner, shrimp in butter and garlic white wine sauce with spaghetti. Better than any restaurant could deliver! Sat on the beach and watched the sunset, had a nice fire in our fire pit, dunked in the hot tub, read awhile and called it Christmas! Guess we will see the Coopers tomorrow. No ...

      ... is not great about ....18c very cold wind coming off the ocean .... but the sun was shinning so it was still very pleasant. We walked along to beach for 2 km towards the pier .... there was stalls set up for the farmers markets so we stopped and browsed.

      ... night outside Santa Barbara in the Santa Ynez mountains, and visited the Cold Springs Tavern for a little nightlife. The Cold Springs Tavern is a historic place that once served as a popular carriage stop along the road, so we thought we might find some good crusty local characters there on a Friday night.       Well, we outdid ourselves yesterday. We got an early start and were southbound on I-5 by 0700 hrs. Our plan called for an overnight stop in Morgan Hill, a town just south of San Jose. That is a drive of 266 miles. But what to do when we arrive at 1300 hours- continue on or fritter the afternoon away sitting in an air conditioned RV in mid 80 degree heat? Yes, you are correct.

Challengers, kept going winding our way around the coast then inland to find Lompoc around 3pm and decided to stop here, wasn't long and we found a Best Western, got a nice room and caught up on the blogg and 2 loads of washing, even the washing powder was free we find we have to pay for that and the machines at home in campgrounds etc. Briar had a quick spa.
