... we hopped back in the water before leaving.
Then we just drove for the day finally ending up in the Crazy Horse RV/camping park. We did a ton of laundry and sat outside and uploaded the pictures from the last couple of days. The weather is cooler here, I think we're higher elevated. Anyway it made for a great sleep in the camper which still beats a hotel room.
we had a good ...
... sounds - have I been in America too long??) He also chatted to us about the mormons in the area, where polygamy is still practised - not surprisingly they have massive houses to cope with all the offspring. Calvin and I agreed one woman was plenty. Water in the canyon was partly coming out of the rock which takes 800 years to go from being snow on top of the cliff to becoming water down the bottom of the canyon - tasted pretty clean, and rather ...
I znowu inaczej niz w ...
Kanab, Utah, United States wrodar... elderly neighbors. Suddenly out of the darkness, our neighbor confronted us and asked us to go to bed as we were being quite loud. He and his wife were unable to sleep and could here every word that we were saying. Embarrassed by some of the crude things we were talking about, we listened to his request and retreated back to our tents for the night. Needless to say, I knocked out pretty quickly since I only had about 30 minutes of sleep the previous night.
Zion National Park, Utah, United States royv1... all time highlights of my trip if not my life. H even got the T-shirt, "I survived Angel's Landing". We decided it was called Angel's Landing because you have to go through hell to get there. It's not a long hike-5 miles. The first two miles are up. There are 21 switchbacks at the end of the two miles and you think after those that you must be there--but no, that starts the rock climbing along a path that is ...
Zion National Park, Utah, United States margomax... the dogs were getting quite tired of the heat and the car so were returned to the road and back to Kanab. Note : if you have a craving for a shake, burger or fries then you have to go to Big Al's in Kanab just great !!! Dinner and some TV gave the dogs a run and we are going to push on to a campground just outside of Tropic on Hwy 12. This is not a long drive for tomorrow and we hope to explore Bryce Canyon. I will come back to entry and put in some pictures later.
Kanab, Utah, United States shipling... moon rise over the canyon opposite us. It was pretty cold, but we survived and it was really nice falling asleep listening to the Virgin river which flowed right beside our tent. The next morning we woke up and decided that we wanted to do a hiking day. We started at the north end of the park and walked the easy mile hike to the beginning of the narrows of the park. This is where the river has cut narrow canyons into the rocks and is pretty ...
Zion National Park, Utah, United States kare1322... but we did it! Aching legs tonight though! Lyn and Ioan headed back down another path then, down into another part of the Silent City, past a crazy famous hoodoo called Thor's Hammer, which looks like someones balanced a big boulder in a really stupid place! We've taken hundreds of photos, but none do it justice. You'll just have to come out and see it for yourselves! Grand Canyon North Rim tomorrow; more jaw dropping views!
Bryce Canyon, Utah, United States cusan... Bryce Canyon. Never one to indulge in a sumptuous breakfast, I restricted myself to a place of cereal and a cup of coffee. At 8.30 we boarded the vans and set off on a trip which took us across the border from Utah into Arizona. Neil (the driver) told us that Bryce was much more breathtaking than the Grand Canyon and so it was, though the strangely-sculpted orange rock formations became a bit boring after several hours ...
